Amanda Martin Assists with Charter School Public Records Request

SMVT Partner Amanda Martin was asked recently to assist the Wilmington StarNews with a charter school public records request.

The paper, which has been after records from area charter schools for months, quotes Amanda in a recent article about their efforts:

“The statute is clear that the employees of the school are public school teachers,” Martin said. “The law says you have a right to get public records information about public employees. The public is entitled to know how its money is being spent, whether it’s being effective, things like that.”
